Industrial Engineering Master’s Degree Online

The Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering offers advanced training in topics that are vital to the well-being of US industry:  quality, productivity, efficiency.  Our program focuses on topics of engineering management, operations research, manufacturing processes, human factors, and enterprise computing.Admission RequirementsProspective students are encouraged to apply by January 31 for fall admission and Septebmer 1 for spring admission.  Students may take up to 9 credits as a non-degree seeking student, so it is possible to begin your studies before formal admittance into the program.  Admission and application procedures for the Industrial Engineering graduate program can be found on the IMSE department website and on the Graduate College website.Degree Requirements

Coursework Only Option
Upgrade your industrial engineering skills through a professional degree program delivered via online education.  Designed to help you raise your engineering knowledge and practice to the next level, this program includes coursework that provides both breadth and depth in the industrial engineering discipline.  The Master of Industrial Engineering degree requires 30 credit hours of coursework.  You can take up to 3 courses before applying for admission to the program.

1. Four additional graduate level courses in Industrial Engineering (from the list above or the course catalog).
2. Registration in IE 501 (graduate seminar) in the fall semester during the first year.
3. Three courses outside the major (for example, other engineering majors, business, statistics).

Online learning
Students interact with faculty through a web portal with 24/7 access to lectures, assignments, on-line discussions, and email.  Exams are administered at your location using proctors arranged through the Engineering Online Learning group. Lectures are viewed online or downloaded for viewing at another time.

Applying for Admission
To be considered for admission to the Master of Industrial Engineering program, applicants must have a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or its equivalent from a college, university, or technical school of recognized standing.  Other Bachelor degrees will be considered on an individual basis. In addition, all applicants need to provide GRE scores.  The TOEFL test is required for students whose native language is not English.  High academic achievement or other persuasive evidence of professional accomplishments is expected for admission to the program.
