All students taking courses online through Engineering-LAS Online Learning are assessed tuition, a delivery fee and a technology fee.
- On-campus students (students taking at least one face-to-face course) are assessed tuition according to their residency plus additional fees for campus services.
- Off-campus students (students taking no face-to-face courses) are assessed in-state tuition regardless of residency.
Delivery fees are assessed by Engineering-LAS Online Learning to all students taking off-campus courses. This fee helps to cover not only the delivery of the courses to off-campus students, but also to maintain our two high tech classrooms, to purchase the equipment needed to keep us on the cutting edge of technology, to employ technicians and operators to run the equipment for the production of each course, to provide the administration of the programs, and to provide prompt and personal support to our off-campus students.
Delivery fees are listed for individual courses in the Schedule of Classes. Generally, delivery fees are $100/credit for courses in the College of Engineering and $50/credit for courses in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Iowa State University does not send paper bills for tuition and fees. Instead, an e-mail notification will be sent to your university e-mail address when your U-Bill is available online in AccessPlus . Tuition and fees are subject to change by The Board of Regents, State of Iowa.
